Have the ingredients at room temperature, if possible. Whisk together flour and baking powder in a small bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk together egg, oil, milk and water. Slowly pour flour mixture into liquid ingredients, whisking continuously. A few lumps are ok; try not to over-mix. Let sit about 5 minutes. Pour onto a hot griddle (something like medium-high heat), and cook until brown. If the batter seems too thin, you may need a little more flour.
